Hello,
You shore it doesn't matter? from what i see in this forum everybody complaining that the key function doesn't work, only when key in coil u can start the car?!
From what i heard a big chance that it's key firmware problem.......ews5 system keys can work on ews4 no problem, but ews4 system key can't work on ews5 System, so this is the reason for my question!
I am trying to test this, so i want to know what firmware its the one you provided ?

Thanks

I have also run into this problem several times. On f series fem with 433mhz. I never made the connection between ews4 and ews5, makes sense. good thinking. I have tried unlocking with vvdi key tool and vvdi prog with same results; only starts when held to column. If you have found a good flash file please share =p

Also I have used vvdi2 as well as autohex to do the job. Problem is definitely with the keys.

Yes. Tried it too but noticed something. It worked on 2016 BMW X1 and 2017 BMW X1 but doesn’t work on 2016 BMW 3 series.

No, but you can save key data and use that data to another cas.
