I am trying to read the ISN from a 2008 Mini MEVD17. AH starts to read goes to 20% and back and gives a message:"ISN reading will take long time". I left it for 1 hour and was still doing the same. Should I leave it more or is the DME bad?

yes try to get another DME if you waited one hour.DME is not allowing to read from it even autohex trying many times.
