As cardiag said you need to connect another cas with key and read DME ISN or must read it ON bench

For save the existing keys from existing CAS3 and EWS4 first you need to downgrade CAS and after save the existing keys.

Might also be a good idea to delete all the added keys in CAs (position 9, and maybe 7 if it's used), and then start over. You can use the prepared file for the key that was saved before.

I do not have a working key. program reads isn 4 digit after obd and on the table. The isn read is the same. I have a second set of cas dde without a working key. I also can not make a new key. the same error - incorrect isn. I read dflash. I was editing a file to find an ISN. there are no bytes read from dde (4 digits), there are only 4 digit egs isn. autohex sees cas ews4 active, bmw explorer cas ews3 egs not active

write the isn as 8 digits first 4 zeroes and add dme isn along with it.

For all E series with short dme/dde isn and without EGS security you can try this.

As a test this morning:

I have a random Cas3+ encrypted; no Key and no ECU. I did firmware downgrade and went to key learning. Selected option 4 (all keys lost), entered '00000000' when asked for DME SK, loaded a prepared file for my test key, inserted key when asked. It programmed my test key to the CAS perfectly; I grabbed a random ECU (that uses 4 byte ISN), aligned it to CAS and all work perfect. Took 15mins (including cas downgrade).

So not sure why the guys above are having problems? I must admit earlier the week I had an issue, but it turned out the key ribbon I used on my test bench was worn from repeated use. Fixed ribbon and all worked perfectly.

I've dropped the cas3 + software, I've entered 00000000 and it's still the same effect. I am also looking at damage to the ribbon. Thank you all for your help

When you say 'tape', you referring to the ribbon cable?

Excellent result though.
