Agreed; this is driver not installed properly. Uninstall software and driver. Reboot windows and press f8. Select install driver without signature and then install HexTag software without HexTag usb connected. Then after software install connect usb to install driver. After install reboot and then try to launch program and perform software update. Takes a few tries but works.
