Working on a Mini R56 with dead DME. Want to replace DME with other DME. Read ISN from CAS successfully. When I try to read of write ISN to donor-DME at approximately 4%

the engine-fault-light turns off and the DME can't be reached anymore in anyway; not by diagnostic scanning etc. I have to remove the DME , wait for approximately 15-30 minutes, reconnect the DME and than the engine-fault-light is on again (ignition on). and the DME is accessible again. If I leave it that way for hours it stays on. As soon as I try to read or write the DME it becomes inaccessable at around 4% of the procedure.

Any ideas how to adapt the donor-dme to the car?

I cannot read ISN from the donor ECU. If behaves like stated in my start post (connections is lost at about 4%). This goes for READING the ISN from the donor dme as for WRITING the ISn to the donor dme.

What DME do you pick to read MED172 in ISN boot mode? I did not see it in the list? Can you reset working hours in it also?

Hi,
Tried to read the ECU MEDV17.4 (7588502) ON BENCH from a TS87256 Mini

What I did;
Connected pin C5, C6, C18 and C30 to 12V
Connected pin C3, C4 and C53 to ground
Connected pin C40 to CAN HIGH (pin 6 on OBD)
Connected pin C52 to CAN LOW (pin 14 on OBD)
Used pin C19 for WAKE-UP

Unfortunately AutoHEX won't connect to the ECU. Do you have any suggestions? If I check CAN HIGH and LOW with a scope I see no activity (messages) only straight 2.5V for both CAN lines

Best regards,

Asim

Since it is directly connected to the OBD connector I thought I could connect the DME on bench the same way as in the car and try to read again via pin 40 en pin 52.

Could you please explain or tell me where I can find connection diagrams with the right wire colors for the three Autohex connectors with loose wire ends describing how to extract ISN in bootmode?
Attached the 4 cables I have for AutoHex and HexProg, but I can't find a description of the loose cable ends or the application of the specific cable.
