Hi all,
I have got a BMW 1 series 2012, with a proximty remote key, the chap has washed it and it only works on the emergency start postion
I have been asked to add a new key, I plugged into the OBD with both Hextag & hex prog, wasnt able to program new key
Question is do I have to read the isn first, then rewrite cas to add key ?
I have tried to find the idiot guide to do this, however no joy, could anyone point me in the right direction
Many Thanks Dave

Hextag / hexprog on its own will not allow you to program a new key. You will need autohex to be able to program a new key.

Thamk you for the reply
I have both, I presume I have to read the ISN, then downgrade like the I have done with CAS 3 keys

First must write what kind of 1 serie do you have
Because I think you have F20 and that car have FEM not CAS3
You need to unlock FEM on bench first using that key or isn
After that you can put FEM back to car and program new key with SECRET FILE generated by AUTOHEX

Ah.....now I understand, thank you. I will remove FEM and do it on the bench
