I've heard this happens when CAS encrypted - so Autohex identified incorrectly CAS as a non-updated -
Should I go to Indiv Coding to update CAS 1st ? So Autohex correctly asks to downgrade

But what to do if no working key in this case -

do you have ignition on car? if cas downgraded you need to restore it . Also check new key showing as YES in slot in key learning option 1 before restore.

Yes ignition on.
Program never asked to downgrade on doing a spare key

Check key in key learning option 1 if showing in slot as YES. If no then probably its the key you can program another key it will work.
