i have the same error with bmw edc17 c50 and c56

cannot communicate with ecu using Factory Mode -Ref-: 160

I also see no output voltage.

For me EDC17C50 works well.

For me works check wirings. I have mess up with wirings and same error in the begining

and read with autohex works, isn and hours.



wiring is not same for autohex and hextag.in autohex you will use the extra added wires on pin 14 and pin 15 but for hextag you need to use the stock blue and green wires(same wires used for CAS connection).make sure you connected the correct wires.

Hello,

now:

- EDC 17C56-2.48 / 0281019997 --> works factory mode + boot mode

- EDC 17C50-3.58 / 0281019680 --> works factory mode ( ecu it is not open)

- EDC 17C50-3.13 / 0281018813 --> it is broken, I forgot it. That was my fault.

Hi all , i have managed to read and write, clone msd85.0, 5wk93827, without any modification of the wiring for hextag , using same wiring set up as autohex tricore, not problem at all.
