Yes. The only difference was the blank remote I used is for comfort access.

1. does remote work on other key?
If yes - then your new key has wrong frequency
if no - there is problem with antenna or smth else
2. comfort key will work in that case

It might sound silly, but check if the battery in new key is good. Some sellers supply without battery. I also use a cheap frequency meter to detect that a key is transmitting and that it's the right frequency. Sometimes there's a problem on the car.

The remote has a new battery. I'll get a detector for next time. It's a backup remote for a friend so he's still happy. Thanks. Maybe I'll try a different supplier next time.

1) the car has a remote that works
2) the car doesn't have comfort access. The blank remote was just comfort access style with the external battery.

Thanks guys.

You must make sure that the frequency is correct, and the key is functioning correct.

The frequency that is stamped on it was the same. I'll have to buy a frequency tester. It was a new blank remote from china is who knows. Thanks for the help anyway.

I bumped into this problem before, the car is from Japan. And the same problem like you facing.
To start engine is fine but the remote is not working with the new key.

Hi Guys. Anyone knows if there are Chinese keys with CA functionality available on the market? If yes where can they be ordered? Thanks
